SekMo project: Energy efficient control algorithms for commercial buildings with PV panels (2021-2027.1.01.24-0604)
Project Total Cost: 152 433,60 – eur
Project timeline: 01.07.2024 – 30.06.2026
The R8 Digital Operator is designed to proactively optimize building operations by minimizing energy consumption while maintaining a favorable indoor climate. As the adoption of solar energy increases, it is crucial to integrate solar energy production data into the building’s control algorithms. This integration supports energy conservation efforts and aligns with the goals of the green transition, making the management of buildings more sustainable and efficient.
The primary objective of this project is to develop methods for integrating solar panels into the R8 Digital Operator’s control algorithms.
The project consists of three main stages:
1. Analysis of Necessary Data: Understanding the data landscape for buildings with Building Management Systems (BMS) and solar panels.
2. Identification and Validation of Data-Driven Models: Creating accurate models for solar energy production based on real-world data. 3. Integration of Solar Energy into Control Algorithms: Developing new control algorithms that utilize solar energy forecasts to optimize building operations.
