We are excited to announce a Product Engineer career opportunity at R8 Technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
HVAC Data Understanding & Mapping:
- Translate mechanical systems operations into data models (e.g., understand AHU/Cooling/Heating/Rooms/BMS behavior).
- Define KPIs and metrics relevant to system efficiency, comfort, and sustainability.
- Collaborate with software engineers and project engineers to validate data logic and quality of the building integrations.
Data Visualization & Reporting
- Build and maintain analytical reporting and dashboards for:
- System performance monitoring.
- Energy consumption analytics.
- Fault detection and diagnostics.
- Comfort and indoor climate performance.
- Create views tailored for different stakeholders (e.g., internal analysts, building owners, FM teams).
Data Science & Analytics Support
- Preprocess, clean, and structure buildings HVAC and energy data for analysis.
- Develop models for expected HVAC behavior (Different components and component groups e.g fans, pumps, chillers).
- Work with R8 Product team to develop algorithms that:
- identify anomalies and inefficiencies.
- optimization models.
- impact analysis.
- Contribute to feature engineering from time-series data (e.g., occupancy trends, weather patterns).
Feedback Loop into Product
- Integrate insights from Customers and Projects Engineers into the R8 Digital Operator’s logic.
- Suggest improvements to how R8’s platform handles different HVAC configurations.
Documentation & QA
- Document dashboard structures and data pipelines.
- Perform QA on data consistency, correctness, and model outputs.
- Track changes in HVAC configuration across projects and update data models accordingly.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Work closely with:
- Software Engineers (for integrating views with backend).
- Product Engineers and Data Scientists (for analytics, model inputs/outputs).
- Product Managers (for UX and feature design).
- Customer Operations Teams (for training and troubleshooting).
