Commercial buildings are often plagued by hidden energy costs due to inefficient operations, outdated systems, and unpredictable occupancy patterns. Studies show that on average, up to 30% of energy in commercial properties is wasted—an inefficiency that can quickly erode profits. As real estate managers search for sustainable solutions, AI-driven technology has emerged as a game-changer. Solutions like R8 Jenny are specifically designed to detect inefficiencies, optimize energy consumption, and provide real-time adjustments, driving energy savings on average more than 20%.

The official launch of the R8 Virtual Power Plant (R8 VPP) and Demand Response service for customers was made at the end of 2022.
This followed the successful implementation of the service in Estonian market in spring 2022. Our customers earned additional significant revenue while their buildings helped balance the electricity grid.
But why are virtual power plants needed and how does they work?
• All power transmission grids are heading towards the era where digitalization enables consumers to benefit from intelligently controlled energy consumption to help keep the balance of production and -consumption in balance.
• The grid operators compensate consumers for their effort to use less energy as an alternative to increasing production. The reverse applies when the request is use more en

Anders Stenbäck from StoneCreek Advisory contributed a good overview about the climate technologies needed for net zero transition. Hereby we are happy to present the keynotes of his article with some of our comments.
The world’s biggest tech companies are getting serious about carbon removal. This May, an alliance of prominent Silicon Valley companies- including Google, Meta, Shopify, and the payment company Stripe - announced that it is purchasing $925 million in carbon removal over the next eight years. In a world awash in overhyped corporate climate commitments, this is actually a big deal. The purchases will be made by a new Stripe-owned company called Frontier.
Carbon off-setting will not solve climate change by itself. To avoid the most catastrophic effects of warming, we must red

The biggest impact on the energy services price rally is that we consume too much and get more and more energy hungry each year.
For example, electricity consumption in Estonia has increased by 7% this year compared to last year. In fact, this is a big problem and is also one of the main reasons behind the price hike. Prices cannot fall if demand remains high and there simply is not enough of the commodity - energy. Unfortunately, this trend of growth in consumption is common worldwide. But are there any real solutions to this?
One of the main solutions undoubtedly lies in large consumers also being able to reduce their energy consumption.
Household consumers must be praised - most people have adjusted their consumption habits or reduced their consumption according to the price of elect
